The glistening beaches, the fresh food, the peaceful atmosphere, the warm weather - I have definitely missed Sydney! For the winter break, we left the freezing city of Amsterdam and took off on our 24 hour plane journey to Down Under.
Our harmonious days began with getting delicious breakfast from the local cafe, M deli, which consisted of fresh frappes, orange juices and smoothies, toasted banana bread, muffins and of course, the classic Australian bacon & egg roll. If we were not eating too much mouth-watering goods on the outside terrace, we were eating at our favourite cafes: Bill's and Brown Sugar. Mmmmm...
Then, we headed down to the beautiful Tamarama beach, only a 2 minute walk. The ocean was turquoise and glistening and the sea breeze was refreshing under the hot Australian sun.
Some of my favourite shops are: Naomi Levi in Bondi where they sell beautiful printed boho jumpsuits and dresses, Seed Heritage, Sea Folly, Carousel and this adorable summer pop-up shop: Pigeon Hole. As well as this, I love the Bondi Markets where they sell anything from bohemian tops to natural soy candles.
At the end of the long summer day, we had a BBQ at home with friends and hopped in the pool one last time. Sausage rolls, burgers, fresh salads - Yum!
Sydney is one of the happiest and most beautiful cities in the world and I am so grateful to have lived there.
I hope that everyone had a good Christmas and I wish you all the best for 2016.
