Puglia, Italy. To think that last week, I was lounging by the pool, sipping on fresh, homemade lemonade makes this rainy day even worse. Apart from lying lazily by the turquoise waters, I discovered some of the most breath-taking villages.
My must-say favourite was Locorotondo; from vintage white houses to mint-green, flower filled secret alleys, this undiscovered town is truly magical.
The next on the list is Polignano a Mare. We travelled here by boat, spotting the clear royal blue ocean, and experiencing the salty ocean breeze; this village is definitely an essential for the views, but also well known for the famous singer export - Domenico Modugno (Volare...). A restaurant that I would recommend is Il Bastione, as it offers amazing ocean views, incredible sea food and pasta, and bread and gelato of course :)!
Alberobello is another definite must in Italy. It offers peaceful (even though in parts quite touristic) strolls through the secret pathways of Trullis, and has numerous souvenir shops. I had doubts about this at first as I thought that it would be too touristic, but I have got to say that it it is one of the cutest places that I have ever come across <3! I had such an amazing time in Puglia - the villages, the energetic atmosphere, the ocean, olive trees, the people, and of course.... the food!
So what are you waiting for? Book that flight, and arrive at the most breathtaking destination.
